Physical Textbook Return Guidelines

Physical textbooks purchased for fall or spring semester courses are returnable for a full refund through Saturday of the first week of classes. Physical textbooks purchased during the second week of classes are returnable through Saturday of that week with proof of drop or class cancellation. Physical textbooks purchased after the second week of classes are not returnable.

Physical textbooks purchased for summer and winter session courses are returnable for a full refund through the first Friday of each session. Physical textbooks purchased after the first week of each session are not returnable.

All physical textbook returns must be accompanied by an original Beach Shops Bookstore receipt and be in their original condition and packaging when purchased. Marked, highlighted, soiled, damaged, or activated digital textbooks are not returnable.

The Bookstore reserves the right to make a decision on the condition or resale value of all merchandise returned.

Non-Returnable Items

  • Digital books that have been activated
  • Computer Hardware and Software
  • Calculators (If opened)

  • Merchandise not in original condition or package
  • Textbooks purchased outside the refund period

General Merchandise Refunds

General Merchandise

May be refunded within 30 days from the date of purchase provided you have a Bookstore receipt and the product is in the same condition as purchased. Merchandise needs to have original packaging with price tags attached. General Merchandise includes office/school supplies, clothing, gifts, trade books and Art Store merchandise.

Computing Devices

May be returned within 10 days from the date of purchase provided you have a Bookstore receipt and the computing device and its accessories are in the same condition as purchased. A 25% restocking fee and a “Factory Reset” fee of $5.00 will be deducted from your refund. Computing devices include laptops, desktops, tablets, etc.

Technology Accessories

May be returned within 30 days from the date of purchase when in their original packaging and accompanied by a receipt. Accessories purchased new must be completely unused to be eligible for a full refund. A minimum 25% restocking fee will be deducted from your refund for items not in brand new condition. Technology accessories include cables, chargers, printers, headphones, cases, input devices, action cameras, etc. *In-ear headphones are not returnable if opened*

Refunds for Cash/Beach Dollar/Charge Purchases

Cash will be refunded for the full amount of the purchase. Refunds on Beach Bucks purchases will be credited back to your Beach ID card. Refunds on credit cards will be credited back to the credit card account used to make the purchase.
